2022 WINTER COURSE at CENTER PARCS – A great turnout of over 40 Instructors, students & families from all our clubs attended the annual winter course at Penrith. Training was on Sat & Sun, 7.45am to 10.25am with sessions take by Doug James 8th Dan, Darren Longstaff 6th Dan, Mark Heaton 5th Dan. SAT 8th December – Bethany McLeod Support Fund Presentation in Carlisle.
Chojinkai Karate Members raised a fantastic amount of £2560 for former Newcastle Club Member Bethany McLeod, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February.
16 year old Bethany has completed a vigorous course of Chemotherapy & is now on a 2 year recovery program & the money raised will go towards a holiday, when she is well enough to enjoy it.
The cheque was presented by Chief Instructor Doug James at the Quarterly Senior Training Course. @ Trinity Leisure Centre.
SAT 17th November -AUTUMN GASSHUKU in Carlisle.
A massive ‘thank you’ to all who attended & helped to raise over 1000 pounds for The Bethany McLeod Support Fund – there is more sponsor money to come in, so well done everyone. A presentation of the final amount will be made at the Senior Course on 8th December & this section will be updated.
FIRST LITTLE DRAGONS COMPETITION – APRIL 2018
This was held at the Wigton Club on 22nd April – 50 members from 4 to 9 years, from Carlisle, Brampton, Wigton & Kendal Clubs entered with Jay Clarkson (Brampton Club, Centre) winning the Champion of Champions Trophy & the 9 years event – Aika Romanis (Carlisle Club, left) won the 6 & under event & Zac Clarkson (Brampton Club right) won the 7/8’s event. Organiser Mark Heaton 4th Dan (right) was thoroughly pleased with the support & awards were also presented to ‘most improved student’ & these went to Taylor Bowes, Wigton: Harry Kendal, Brampton: Harry Clarkson, Carlisle;
WINTER COURSE @ CENTER PARCS – January 2018
42 Instructors, Students & families attended the Annual Winter Course held at Center Parcs, Penrith from 19th to 22nd January 2018.
22 attended the 2 day course, training 3 hours on Sat & Sun morning, then enjoying the park facilities for rest of the weekend.
4th Dan’s Mark Heaton & Matt Miller conducted the course along with Chief Instructor Doug James 8th Dan.
